About the Role We're looking for an exceptional attorney whose greatest strength is legal writing. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on tackling novel legal issues, crafting persuasive arguments, and producing clear, thoughtful, and compelling written advocacy. We're particularly interested in attorneys with backgrounds that demonstrate outstanding writing ability, including former judicial law clerks, appellate attorneys, legal writing instructors, former journalists, or others with a proven record of exceptional legal analysis and persuasive writing. The title of Associate or Senior Counsel will be determined based on your experience, expertise, and overall qualifications.
Responsibilities
Conduct complex legal research using Westlaw and other legal research platforms.
Draft high-quality legal documents, including:
Memoranda
Demand letters
Briefs
Motions for Summary Judgment (MSJs)
Motions for Adjudication (MSAs)
Motions in Limine
Pretrial briefs and other litigation filings
Analyze case law thoroughly and independently rather than relying solely on AI-generated summaries.
Collaborate closely with attorneys across the litigation team to develop case strategy.
Manage multiple assignments while meeting aggressive litigation deadlines.
Incorporate feedback into written work and continuously improve legal analysis and writing.
Proactively communicate with team members, ask questions, and seek additional work when capacity allows.
Required Qualifications
Active California Bar license in good standing.
5–10 years of litigation experience.
Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills.
Experience drafting complex litigation motions and briefs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Westlaw.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, thoughtful work.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Preferred
Antitrust litigation experience.
Judicial clerkship or experience handling complex commercial litigation.
Trial preparation experience.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $175,000–$225,000 annually
Merit-based annual bonus (based on individual performance and firm financial results)
